The Things I'm Grateful For

I am grateful for
Eyes to see the beauty in this world,
Ears to listen to music and laughter,
Being able to wrinkle my nose,
And dance around on my tippy toes,
Lips for which I can smile,
A mouth for laughing all the while,
Hands to build,
And a heart to beat,
Pumping blood from blushing cheeks to my feet,
opposable thumbs for playing thumb wars,
And a wishful heart that beats and soars.

I'm thankful for
Two mothers
And two fathers,
They love me all the same,
Amazing friends that brighten the world
And make it not so plain,
A love to hold me in his arms
and keep me from life's harms,
Siblings whose mistakes I learn
But upside-down the world I'd turn,
A roof over my head,
and blankets in my bed.

I'm grateful for my life,
I wouldn't ask for more.
Life, family, friends are the things I'm thankful for.

Blog Review

Poetic Clarity
Poetic Clarity is a unique blog that's poems show every end of emotion.  Mel is a beautiful writer and you can tell she puts a lot of thought into her work.  She seems to pour her mind out into her writing.  Her poems are powerful along with the photos she puts next to them.

J'adore
J'adore is another great blog.  Devan is a great writer who tells things how she sees them.  She lets you know who she is through her writing.  Her work is very creative and beautiful.

The Third Eye is the Clearest
Ariel's writing is amazing.  She never seems to care what people will think about it, she just writes what she feels.  I love her style and how she has such a strong voice.  I hope I can read more of her work.

Remember

I'll forget you.
I won't remember arms that pulled me in soft
and slow.
I'll forget you.
There has to be a way to let you go.
No more shadows,
No dreams of leaning in the dark above you.
I will forget how much I love you any day.
But every evening shivers
with the chance that you are near
and every morning whispers
“He is here.”
Each moment is a fight
not to rush into your light,
not to move closer
but to make you disappear.
I'll forget you.
I've got to find the strength
to pull away from your glow.
I'll forget you!
God help me see
the way to let you go!
I do not want you
and still you steal each breath
I'm breathing from me.
with just a touch you overcome me,
and I let you.

I will forget you
when I die.

This is an excerpt from my favorite song.  It's from  the play "The Scarlet Pimpernel."  It's a beautiful song about a women having trouble forgetting a man she had an affair and fell in love with.  I really like how it's written and in the past, I've related to it.  It's about having trouble forgetting a good memory and her heart and mind arguing.  Sometimes, remembering is a bad thing.

It seems I’ve spent my whole life spinning against the Earth, but when I met you I saw the greater birth.  From the moment I looked into your eyes, it took me by surprise, I saw a new beginning were life could be a prize. A life with you and me could be just like a growing seed, each day building stronger into a beautiful tree.  I’m so used to having everyone shove me right aside, that I held myself together and told myself I tried.  You’ve taught me many things and for that I am in debt,  I cant repay you with money or a dove, but only with undying love.  You see me like no other ever has or never dared to try.  Its you that taught me really how to fly. So now I keep on spinning with you not by my side, I always wish that life had not taken on that stride.  It was you that showed me that I could go along with the world and that I needn’t be in two, but before you left you forgot to teach me how to go on without you.
